Why Goodbye | Samantha Lee 李卿萱
Samantha co-wrote this piece with her brother, Joe Lee, who played the guitar accompaniment for this song. This is the first song they completed together. They toyed with many song ideas for the past years and none of which materialised.
When Samantha knew UNPLUGGED wanted to feature her in an original album, she was elated.
"I went through all the snippets we did in the past and I panicked, because nothing seemed like "The One". So I called Joe home, and "Why Goodbye" just happened in a magical afternoon."
我们会在一起 | Choon Yang 许俊远
Choon Yang composed and sang this simple song that describes the love for someone who is far away and the longing to be together eventually. A song of hope and perseverance in a distant relationship.
无情雨 | Jeff Ng | 黄長俊
一七睡個覺 | Jee Yon 志勇
「一七睡個覺」is a song written for the daily hustlers. In the mad world we are living in, we tend to work every single day to keep up with the pace of life in Singapore; and yet, not having enough rest. The song depicts a light, happy and cheeky mood for the daily hustlers, to remind them to sleep.
让你走 | Leon Ho
This piece was written based on Leon's personal experience. Leon wanted to write a song with simple lyrics that is able to evoke emotions to his listeners who had experienced the same emotions as he did, at some point of their life.
As a keyboardist, he loves writing piano based ballads inspired by Jay Chou, JJ Lin and Wang Lee Hom.
空房子 | Jiaqing 佘珈庆
Jiaqing collaborated with VS4 to come up with this original piece back when he was training with 海蝶.
Modified and rearranged, Jiaqing is singing this song like it's never been heard before.
Fictionally written to depict a house that was left empty after the love of one's life left.
应该 | Sylvester Sim 沈祥龙
「 应该」was written after Sly heard about the unfortunate news report of the Tsunami that affected thousands. He was overwhelmed with emotions, empathizing with families who had lost their loved ones. (The inspiration of this song was never mentioned when he first published it.)
Fast forward to 2014, he revived "应该", breathed new life into it and created an UNPLUGGED version of this deep and arrested piece about treasuring the ones he loves.
